Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using BamBuddies (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and CaribouGames.
2. The service
BamBuddies is a platform for organizing Mahjong games — creating groups, managing game invites, coordinating logistics, and communicating with other players. We provide this service on a free basis for individual players, with paid plans for organizations.
3. Your account
- You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent
- You must provide accurate registration information
- One account per person — multiple accounts are not permitted
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use BamBuddies only for its intended purpose — organizing Mahjong games and communicating with fellow players. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Post content that is offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate
- Attempt to access accounts or data belonging to other users
- Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the Service
- Misrepresent your identity or player level
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or compromise the security of the Service
5. Content you post
You retain ownership of content you post (messages, game details, etc.). By posting, you grant CaribouGames a limited license to display and transmit that content to provide the Service. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate the rights of others or these Terms.
We may remove content that violates these Terms or our community standards without notice.
6. Location data
Your home address is used only to calculate proximity for game discovery. It is never displayed to other users. By providing your address, you consent to this use. Full game addresses are only revealed to confirmed participants after game confirmation.
7. SMS messaging
Program name: BamBuddies SMS Service
If you provide your mobile phone number when creating a BamBuddies account, or if you accept an invitation from another BamBuddies user that was sent to your phone number, you may receive transactional SMS messages from us. Messages relate to your account activity and include game invitations, game confirmations, game reminders, and group activity.
Message frequency: Message frequency varies depending on your activity in the Service — typically 1–10 messages per week for active players, and 0 messages per week when you are inactive.
Cost: Msg & data rates may apply. Messages are sent through your mobile carrier and standard carrier message and data rates apply.
HELP: Reply HELP to any BamBuddies SMS message to receive help, or contact support@bambuddies.org.
STOP: Reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT, or STOPALL to any BamBuddies SMS message to opt out. After opting out you will receive one confirmation message and no further messages. Reply START to resubscribe.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
SMS notifications are also configurable inside the BamBuddies app under Profile → Notifications. We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.
8. Free tier and paid plans
The core player features of BamBuddies are free and will remain free. We reserve the right to introduce new paid features in the future, but core game organization functionality will not be paywalled. Organization plans are subscription-based — see the organization terms for details. Ad-free subscriptions are billed monthly or annually and cancel at period end.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
BamBuddies is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for games that do not happen, players who do not show up, or any harm arising from in-person meetings arranged through the Service.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, CaribouGames shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access ends and your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes with at least 14 days notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Fulton County, Georgia.
